SLOWPOKE

This is a gorgeous little cafe located in Fitzroy, Melbourne designed by Sasufi. The main feature in the space is a 12 metre long recycled timber wall, that looks like a new product out on the market that is a stacked timber tile. Has anyone seen or used this? All the furniture in the cafe is thrifted and the tabletops are made of recycled timber floorboards. The budget was very tight and I think it is a fantastic solution! Can't wait to get over to Melbourne, there seems to be so much going on over there at the moment.

CAPITAL KITCHEN

Love, love, love this post today! I am completely enamoured with this one. It is the very stunning Capital Kitchen located in Chadstone, Melbourne. I think it is the graphics that does it for me and those gorgeous 'Caravaggio' pendant lights. What can I say but a trip over to Melbourne is definitely in store! Capital Kitchen is a retail homewares and food concept store by the the visionary catering company The Big Group and was designed by Mim Design (checkout their website, very talented!).

MINIMAL BAKING

Could this be the world's most minimal and stunning bakery? The bakery is located in Osaka, Japan and was designed by the firm Ninkipen!. The baked goods are displayed on a beauiful silvery grey sleeper while the kitchen is behind an exposed concrete counter. The Japanese do minimalism so beautifully!

THE GOURMET TEA

Hello everyone, hope you have had a wonderful easter! Sorry I did not post yesterday my internet was playing up and it was a good excuse anyway to have some time off! Today's post is the very colourful interior of The Gourmet Tea store in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The fitout was designed by Alan Chu Architects, in which a small house was transformed into the tea shop. The inspiration for the fitout came from the colours of the tins of the 35 tea blends that the store sells. I have probably close to that number of different teas in my pantry, I am a bit of a tea addict! I really love the simplicity of the fitout and how the architects have allowed for the colour to shine through. Hmm I am hankering for a cup of tea right about now!

CAMPER + TOMAS ALONSO

Back in February I blogged about the very talented (and pretty cute!) Tomas Alonso here. Alonso has recently collaborated with shoe company Camper as part of their 'together' concept, which invites cutting edge designers to redesign their stores. Alonso has designed the interior fitout for the London Camper shop in Convent Garden, in his very distinct style. The designers love of bent tubular steel is apparent in the interior as well as his subtle hits of colour. Love it!

He is definitely one talented designer and one to keep an eye on.

MARC JACOBS TOKYO

Marc Jacobs (who in my opinion is one of the coolest fashion designers in the world!) has opened up a flagship store in Tokyo. Jacobs has long been an admirer of the inherent traditional craft in Japanese architecture. The lantern looking building, with the top portion being made of perforated aluminium panels, was designed by the New York firm Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects. Might have to start saving for that trip to Japan or more so for one of MJ's 'petal to the metal natasha' bags....

AESOP POP-UP SHOP IN PARIS

Is it just me or is every new Aesop fitout more incredible than the one before? Aesop have commissioned Melbourne architect Rodney Eggleston of March Studio to design the pop-up store in Paris' Marais district. It is an example of how a very simple concept can make such an impact, just beautiful! Reminds me I need to get some more of my 'Fabulous Face Cleanser'....
